Self catering holidays in Malta

British style pubs do not exist in Malta. The Maltese version is more of a cafe, distinctly European. There is the occasional themed Irish or similar pub specifically for tourists but why bother when you can sit at a table outside in the sun and enjoy your beer?

Some of these local drinking places are quite small and frequented mainly by men; a place where they can discuss politics and football and escape their wives.
